This about sums it up for volunteers! We need members - plain and simple. We train on Monday evenings, stop in and ask about it. No experience necessary but your job description looks like this:Job description:1: fight fire - big or small inside or outside 2: jump in moving or still water to rescue someone who can’t get out3: rescue 400 ducks annually on Canada Day.4: stabilize and utilize various techniques to extricate victims from vehicles that have been damaged into positions you’ve never though possible5: unplanned hikes through our beautiful landscape to extricate lost or injured persons trying to do planned hikes6: respond in the dead of winter through multiple feet of snow to rescue folks from possibly the worst day of their lives. 7: respond in the dead heat of summer to do the same8: train on a regular basis-as much as you can9: be the friendly face that gets out of bed in the middle of the night, supper time, or a holiday- and walks through someone’s front door to assure them they are there to help when they’re having a medical issue. 10: be a team player11: be community minded12: hang from ropes when it’s required or support those on ropes!13: drive and operate fire trucks (got your air brakes?)14: 15:16:17:answer the call But don’t worry, we’ll make sure you get there, ready and able to do all that!
